The Arizona Legislative Action Committees (AZLAC) exists to represent the interests of, and to provide regular communications to CAI members located within Arizona about state legislative, regulatory, and case law relevant to community associations.  AZLAC delegates are nominated by the Southern and Central Arizona chapters and by the AZLAC itself, and volunteer their time and energy to benefit all CAI members.  The AZLAC is not a PAC (political action committee) and makes no financial contributions to political candidates or compaigns.  The LAC depends solely on donations by the community associations and businesses it represents.

Each legislative session presents new opportunities and challenges for our industry.  Working through these issues can be difficult and volatile and takes a tremendous amount of dedication and willingness to work behind the scenes as well as in public forums.  The Arizona Legislative Action Committee will, from time to time, ask for the assistance of our membership and the community at large to either support or oppose specific legislation concerning the protection of homeowners.

Anyone interested in supporting positive, sensible and consistant legislation regarding homeowners and community associations is encouraged to get involved.  There are numerous ways to do so, whether it is being responsive to Legislative Alerts, sharing information with all interested parties in your contact list, or serving on the LAC.  Consider what you can contribute whether it is your time, money or ideas and contact the Chapter or any LAC Delegate to make your interest known.

Learn more about the Community Associations Institute's Legislative initiatives and programs at our CAI Government & Public Affairs page.
